I found it on the street - five sided plant parts are very rare in nature - I don't know if this one is in any way edible - maybe not - I'm not going to try unless I know it is! The hard shell came apart on my desk - it split the five shell parts apart on the deep lobe lines - the seeds are covered in a papery light tan material that reminds me of maple tree seeds - like helicopter blades, but thin and soft - the seed is somewhat visible inside at one end of the covering.
