Desk Shell

Is there any way of making my glass desk look better?

I bought a glass desk from Big Lots, but I realized this after a period of time, my desk doesn't look good when you can see through it. You can see all the wires and the huge sub woofer underneath the desk and it just looks bad, especially when you are sitting and looking around at it. If it's possible, I want to do something to make it so the glass is not transparent, but I don't want to paint it. If anyone has a solution, please answer.

  1. paint the underside
  2. Try self-adhesive contact/shelf paper. It comes in a variety of sizes, colors and patterns, including different types of wood-grain designs (if that is a look that you want) to cover the glass. An over-sized desk blotter might help, also.
  3. You can etch the glass with a kit you can purchase at any craft store..or you can do a collage of pictures fastened underneath so you can see your family, friends, pets, scenery, etc...while sitting at the desk. This way you can change it up whenever you like.
  4. Window tint in the darkest shade sold, 5%. Install it on the underside so it will not get scratched as you use the desk.
  5. use a film to create a mirror reflection on side of the glass that is facing toward you, why did you buy a glass desk if you did not want to see what was under the glass desk? the film can be removed later if you dont want it anymore with a razor blade and scrapped off the surface.
  6. There are these 'stickers' that you can put on your window panes to ensure privacy (or just decorate). There are various types and styles including froted glass-like. Some are glued but electro-static ones you just wet the surface of the glass (underneath, in your case) and stick it on and whenever you are bored of it you just pull it off and can reuse it.
